Gangsters and molls, flappers and bootleggers, all swear that the moonshine at The Big Tiger is swell.
But Buster McNail is dead. He's been whacked, chilled off, rubbed out, zotzed in his own Speakeasy.
The dolls and the molls pretend horror; the gangsters and bootleggers had been watching the hoofers and the Temperance Movement founder claims to have been waving placards outside.
As rival gangsters scheme and a bootlegging scheme is uncovered, the authorities want order, rummy. Law enforcers declare their intentions of ridding the town of drink, gambling and gangsters and the Temperance Society campaigns against that most scandalous of dances, The Charleston.
Yet in this hilarious, light-hearted 1920s' murder mystery party, everyone has secrets and everyone has the opportunity. But the victim is the nephew of the local Big Cheese. So the homicide needs solving. Fast ...

I have done several murder mysteries, and this one was very good. It was easy to follow for everybody. There are several things I look for when I choose a murder mystery, and this one had them all. I like that the victim was not a person who was one of the characters, so everyone got to play the entire game. It came with lots of food ideas, party decoration ideas, and printable decorations,. The characters were fun to dress up as and act out. The lines were easy to follow, and best of all, the murderer was not too obvious so it resulted in fun discussions (and arguments lol) before the reveal! We absolutely loved that there was an audio file to play the reveal!

We had a murder mystery weekend that spanned two evenings where we all stayed in character throughout. On the first evening, we played 1920s style and sang karaoke because there was a speakeasy atmosphere. The second night was the dinner. I can hardly remember the last time I had as much fun as I did on these two evenings – we laughed so much.
The plot was exciting and easy to follow, and the characters all had a little twist as well as special characteristics that were wonderful to act out in order to really immerse yourself in the role. Each of us was enthusiastic about our role and played it with a lot of passion – so much so that we were almost all a little sad to leave our characters at the end.
At the end there were ‘Oscars’ for the best costume, the best acting performance, the best solution, the best chef and the best host. We all agree that we would definitely like to organise a murder mystery dinner like this again.

The event was a great success! The host needed to do quite a bit of planning and a lot of printing but it was well worth it. Everyone entered into the spirit of the game and their character and we had a lot of laughs. The script was well written and definitely gave focus; the instructions and suggestions for decor, costumes etc were very helpful. It was something very different; a memorable evening!

We had so much fun dressing up and playing Murder at the Speakeasy. This game included everything we needed and more. The files are easy to access, clearly organized and designed to print or email. The instructions were very clear. We appreciated the basic script to keep us focused and give the game structure. The suggestions for dress, food and decor were very helpful and created a fun setting. I especially loved that this game was flexible for number of participants and had gender-neutral characters. Will definitely come here for our next game, well done!

Great info and details for the party! Lots for the guests to already have ready for their characters in the script and also the fun of improv possibilities. The stuff to print was fun to have too. My crew dressed up and had a blast!!! I also created wanted posters. My crew liked the partial scripting too, they said it helped them when their brains wouldn’t. We made some speakeasy finger food to go along with the night and a buffet dinner of Chicken a la King.

We stayed at Singer Castle on Dark Island (only the 6 of us and 1 caretaker) to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had the entire castle to ourselves and choose to do the murder mystery in the drawing room. The castle, complete with secret passageways, has a storied history during prohibition and was the perfect setting for the Speakeasy Murder Mystery game. Getting dressed for the occasion and serving 20s style cocktails really added to the fun! It didn’t take long for us to get into a rhythm for the game-play. It was our first time doing anything like this and we can’t wait to do it again!

We have been playing/hosting MM parties for about 12 years! We’ve used lots of companies and by far this is one of the best! The story and writing is awesome and detailed. Everyone enjoyed it and we’ll use Maple Mystery Games next year!
Our only suggestion is that we thought the script was a little hard to follow with who should speak when, it took a few rounds to get used to it. I would suggest changing to “When X Ask you a question, you answer with X” and ” You need to ask X a question” besides that we loved the length of game and it gave everyone lots of time to get into and enjoy their character!
