Story and Characters for this Christmas Murder Mystery Game
Attempted murder has struck the North Pole. Our famous Mr Claus has been poisoned with a mysterious sleeping potion.
Unexplained acts of vandalism have happened. Santa's sleigh has been damaged, the toys in the toy workshop have disappeared, the Naughty and Nice Lists have become jumbled and spies from the rival South Pole PLC have been spotted.
Jolly old Mr Claus called a North Pole Crisis Meeting to discuss these terrible issues.
On the day of this meeting, he fell into a magical sleep.
Is Santa Slayed? Or will YOU save him and let Christmas happen again?
Instant download gives you a Christmas Murder Mystery Party that is challenging for adults and also suitable for families. Magic abounds, intrigue is afoot and it is up to YOU to solve the murder mystery so Santa can survive and Christmas may yet happen.
Our Version of the North Pole
In our game, kindly Saint Nick was entrusted by The Guardians of the Earth to deliver presents to good children, using his magical sleigh and team of flying reindeer.
He is married to Mrs Claus, a former New York model and has a niece or nephew called Jinxy. (Larger party versions also have an extra niece or nephew called Merry).
The magical North Pole community includes a team of elves who make presents in the toy workshop. There is a magician and apprentice magician whose job it is to use magic to help Santa's operations.
And then there is the terrifying talking polar bear - Bear's ancestors were given the gift of speech by Mr Claus and have repaid this gift by running Claws for Claus Security, maintaining the Invisibility Field around Santa's North Pole operations.
Then of course, there are the reindeer, another animal whose ancestors were given the gift of speech by the generosity of St Nicholas.
And finally, in an unashamed steal from Charles Dickens' "The Christmas Carol", there is Grouchy Scrooge, the hated Head of North Pole Productivity and Accountability.
With such a mix of characters, what can possibly go wrong? ...
This Christmas murder mystery party game has a festive mix of traditional characters, with Mrs Claus, Jinxy Claus, elves and reindeer
and
others you - might - find in a wonderful magical kingdom such as that found at our version of the North Pole!

This was our fourth murder mystery from Maple Mystery Games, and once again, it did not disappoint! The game was an absolute blast from start to finish. As always, the excitement of dressing up and diving into our characters was a highlight, and the timing was perfect with all our Christmas decorations adding to the festive ambiance.
One of our favorite touches this time was wrapping up mini shooter bottles as prizes for anyone who guessed the murderer correctly. The twist? None of us managed to solve the case—so everyone got a shooter anyway!
We also spiced things up with a police-themed backdrop for suspect mugshots and even had everyone take fingerprints, which added an extra layer of hilarity and immersion to the evening. For food, we kept it simple with snack platters, letting the game (and our accusations) take center stage.
Thank you, Maple Mystery Games, for another amazing night of intrigue, laughter, and fun. We cannot wait to try out our next mystery adventure! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and engaging party experience!

We had so much fun playing this together for our Christmas party! We especially appreciate the family friendly content, there was no swearing or inappropriate content for kids. All ages had a great time, from grandparents down to the grandkids. We’re planning to buy more games for upcoming parties. Thanks so much!

Had so much fun doing one of these murder mysteries for Halloween that we just had to do another for Christmas!! Was just as fun as expected and can’t wait to do another!

We had a fab evening, with everyone getting into character right from the start. Three out of the ten players guessed right.
It was great fun, well supported with all the documents and guidance.
Thanks
Roger

We played this as a family Christmas game. It is hard to find a game for only 6 people and one for kids. This one was perfect; our 9-year-old niece only struggled with a few of the words, but she still was able to keep up with the game. We all had a very good time, as the game moves at a good pace and is not overly complicated, but still a mystery. I recommend this game.

Really enjoyed for our virtual New Year’s Eve party. Suitable for families as we played with the kids (youngest 9) and the kids really got into the spirit of it and everyone had a lovely time.

Have a Christmas party coming up and want to do something a little different than usual? What about a family get together that always plays out the same way it does every year? Have you thought about doing a Christmas themed murder mystery? Having just finished the 6-8 player kit for “Is Santa Slayed?”, I can definitely recommend it for holiday fun! The characters are all super fun, unique and devious in their own right, and with the story being set in the North Pole, the festive atmosphere it created was contagious. The mystery was well crafted and was neither too easy nor too hard making it great for all sorts of people (even weird cousin Vinny). Grab your eggnog and some sweet Christmas cakes and get ready for one of the best Christmas parties you’ve been to in a long time!

Purchased the Christmas murder mystery and did this with family via zoom since we could no longer get together in person. It was great fun! The downloadable content was easy to understand and simple to follow. Costumes were easy to find from things we had around the house at Christmas time. Good fun.

Played the Christmas game on Boxing Day on zoom as an alternative to getting the family together. Really funny evening, brilliant supporting documents and where people had fancy dress it really brought the characters to life. We only had 2 days to prep as it was such a last minute decision – would recommend allowing a week or so whenever you can to allow people more time to prep and get costumes sorted.

This is the second time we have purchased a virtual murder mystery for my family who are dotted all over the UK.
They are easy to set up, simple to follow and great fun for the whole family! I couldn’t recommend more, especially when usual get togethers can’t happen in the current climate these have provided so much entertainment!
