Ashley played "Murder at the Christmas Party" with her 5 female cousins during a weekend away. They played the game over about 4 hours, including the Initial Mingling. Ashley served a traditional Christmas meal.
Everyone put so much effort into creating fun costumes and the decoration ideas were very creative.
1 Creative Christmas Decorations
We love the outline of Scrooge's body on the floor and the "Police Line Do Not Cross" crime tape. This outline served as the focal point for the Initial Mingling:

Crime scene tape adds fun.
Ashley created an individual stocking present for each guest using the character's own name. The stockings look fab:
Each of the stockings had a miniature red cardinal (a red cardinal is a symbol of Christmas in Canada). This red cardinal theme is echoed throughout the decorations.
The dinner table featured homemade red cardinal place mats with each character's name on it. Ashley also used the place setting cards from the game's decoration kit and then added some fun touches to fit with the hotel's "whacky, tacky and fun, fun, fun" slogan. Note the fun tablecloth with snow-covered buildings that is really in keeping with a festive resort. The napkins shaped like a snow-covered hotel are a nice touch! The festive, party glasses and the different candies add an extra fun touch.

Red cardinals feature prominently.
The fun table cloth with the snow-covered buildings and the and the shaped snow-covered napkinsare both really in keeping with a hotel in a Christmas resort.
The party glasses are both really in keeping with the hotel's slogan.
The red cardinal theme was also echoed elsewhere in the room:
2 Wonderful Costumes
We love the fake moustaches. Each character perfectly chose an outfit for their character - note Jolly Holly's fab "Have a Holly and Jolly Christmas" t-shirt and wonderfully over-the-top headband and glasses! And Rudloph's reindeer antlers and bling gold chain perfectly show his character. Major is the Victorian miser gentleman with a fun twist with an open neckline. And Rosa and Sleigh both have colorful fun outfits.

Ashley's verdict: "
This is my 3rd time hosting a murder mystery with Maple Mystery Games and they never disappoint. We were all cousins. We planned an evening murder mystery; for most it was their first time. They were impressed with the ease and flow. As we were 6 people, the evening lasted about 4 hours as we used the mingle notes. We loved the decoration ideas and the story line. We are
looking at doing this family event yearly and we will definitely be using Maple Mystery Games again.
We would like to thank you as we have so much fun, as we went all in. We did the mingle event around Scrooge’s dead body, as you can see in some of the included pictures, which included character stockings. We decorated the living room where Scrooge was murdered and sat around a decorated dinning room. We had a traditional Christmas dinner. We were all cousins getting away for the weekend and, as I mentioned, I have used your company 2 times before this one and this time (the 3rd time) was the first time that all of my cousins have ever done a murder mystery and I can tell you they are looking forward to the next. From the invitations to the scripts, you guys make it so easy and so much fun. Thank you."
