Jessica says:
We actually started the party with the food and drinks. I don't believe I have any pictures of the food set up. I had it at the kitchen island as self-serve. People were able to get up from the table during the murder mystery to get additional snacks and such. We had the following foods:
Desserts were:
Jessica bought some swell 1920s and speakeasy wall signs which look stunning and very Art Deco:
These signs made a great backdrop for the simple but eye-catching black and gold table decor. Note the black feathers and the table place card settings from the game's decoration kit:
She also had a mix of a bought sign and a sign from the game's decoration kit to greet guests as they arrived:
We love Whackem's gangster outfit, complete with an impressive toy gun and cigar, and Bunny's classy fringed dress, pearls and fur coat:
We love Mercy's stunning red and black dress. The long length gives the appropriate air of decorum for Mercy, yet the black boa and headband add a touch of 1920s glamour. Mayor O'Clipper sports a grey tweed suit:
Jimmy Joe and Mary May both have swell matching costumes that are ideal for their (alleged!) bootlegging roles. Note the vest underneath the open shirt and the braces/suspenders:
Ruby Ellen and Bertie both have glam outfits. We love Ruby Ellen's fringed dress, pearls and headband:
Jessica's verdict:
"I’ve hosted lots of murder mystery parties in the past. This was the first one for everybody else. We had a roaring good time! It took us a bit to get the hang of things, but after the first round, we found our groove. ...
Everyone had an absolute blast and said they would love to do this again and again. I appreciate your company having such detailed kits in multiple themes. I was going to print everything in color in Cardstock, but I never made it to office depot to do that. But the black and white booklets worked just fine."
