Story and Characters for this Totally Rad 90s Murder Mystery Game
Yo! It’s back in the day of the Naughty Nineties when New Age was da bomb, wannabes were stylin' and the world was predicted to end on December 31st 1999.
It's the investigative wake for Lord William Worthalot-Worthy.
His wife obviously loved him - and his mistress did too!
His business partner declares their hotel is "totally respectable". How could anyone think otherwise?
And The Save Our Sinners Foundation is just concerned with preventing the world from ending on December 31st 1999. Hallelujah, Praise The Lord! They cannot be a cult.
But at Worthalot Manor, Junior is about to expose some secrets ...
Instant download lets you host a Manor House and 90s murder mystery party your friends will remember.
So dig out your leggings, hunt out your scrunchies and bandanas, find your grunge and your sexy schoolgirl tartans. If those toffs at the manor want to criticise your style, they can Talk to the Hand. Whatever!
This RAD 90s murder mystery party has a dope mix of wannabes and celebrities, with an end-of-the-world cult and a New Age Psychic
not to mention

I bought this because none of my friends had ever done a murder mystery before. They were very apprehensive about even trying one. Once we started, everyone got right into their character! The whole party came to life and we have already scheduled the next one!! This is the best one I have ever been a part of!! Can’t wait for the next…

I bought this game to play to celebrate a family birthday. We had done so many zoom quizzes that we wanted to do something a bit different. The Naughty Nineties was a lot of fun and definitely appealed to lots of us. I was really grateful for the many different outfit suggestions and loved the role of Clare! Definitely a must if you’re looking for a different virtual get together in these most unusual of times. So easy to use and the pack is so straightforward to send out and explain to others.

We were running out of ideas for virtual get togethers and needed something for a work leaving do. This murder mystery proved to be the perfect solution and a great time was had by all. It is the second event I have hosted, so I was familiar with the preparation needed – which helped things to go more smoothly. Dressing up certainly added a few laughs. We are looking forward to the 1970’s themed murder mystery next! Thank you.

What a brilliant night was had by all. Characters were amazing; never seen such good outfits too. REV even had a personalised jacket! Everything was really easy to follow, well written, best virtual party we have ever had. Would totally recommend it. Can’t wait to do our next one.

Eight of us gathered this weekend for an evening of murder and mayhem and a great time was had by all. It was great to be able to combine using a script and throwing in a bit of ad-libbing, especially as we were all murder mystery novices, having only tried this once before with a very simple script.
It took a little while to get into how the script worked and we would highly recommend printing the script and clues out rather than having to keep two windows open on a laptop/PC. One or two characters did not seem to have as much to say as others, but that worked out fine for our situation.
It was fun to dress up for our parts and we really appreciated all the suggestions included in the pack. The decor and food ideas would have been really useful if we’d been doing the game live, too.
Note from Maple Mystery Games: since the lady bought this mystery, we have gone back over all mysteries and have evened out the number of speeches per character. We have also improved both the instructions in the Party Booklets and the Host Instructions.

Did ‘murder in the 90s’ with some friends via Zoom in Lockdown 1 (May 2020). Enjoyed it so much we are planning to do another one in lockdown 3 (Jan 2021). Everything is organised and provided for you in the pack. The script and character bios with a bit of ad-libbing here and there, really made it a great laugh. This honestly was a great way to spend a couple of hours with friends (even if we couldn’t all be in the same place).

Really good fun to play through over Zoom for a birthday party. Plenty of ways to improvise and make it our own but without feeling forced to. Guests really enjoyed it and got involved, even those of us that aren’t naturally so dramatic!

We played this game for New Year’s Eve and had a blast! It was a great activity for Covid times since we did the whole event on Zoom. It was fun to dress up and get into character and the game worked even though none of us had ever done something like this before. I would definitely recommend this!

12 person game, online. The story was quite complicated but the characters well defined and the script well written, I set everyone a little quiz on their characters first to make sure they read their notes. Perhaps the story could be a bit simpler as the real fun is in the acting and dressing up and guessing rather than being right. But we all had a really really fun evening

This was a great concept and it was really well written with speedy customer service!
I am not the most tech savvy but I managed it. We all dressed up and made an effort to look ‘90s.
We did all feel that it could have been more 90s themed though, it was too Lord and Lady for what we were hoping for from a 90s theme.
We had a good night and I was surprised how well it played out virtually. It was our first murder mystery virtually but won’t be our last.
